Please note that independent candidates
in the State of Vermont are legally
allowed to use a descriptive
phrase to describe their political
party affiliation, when there is no
certified political party already
using that name in the State of VT.

Cris Ericson
has previously appeared on the
Vermont Official Election Ballot
in 2002
as the Make Marijuana Legal Party,
and she has been on the ballot
every two years since then,
sometimes as the Marijuana Party,
sometimes as the
United States Marijuana Party.

Cris Ericson was on the Official
PRIMARY Election Ballot in Vermont
in 2006 and a candidate for
United States Senator for the
Republican Party but she was
excluded from the majority of
primary election debates and
candidate forums.

Cris Ericson was on the Official
PRIMARY Election Ballot in Vermont
in 2016 for the Democratic Party
as a candidate for both Governor
and for U.S. Senator, and she was
excluded from the majority of
primary election debates and forums.

Cris Ericson will appear on the 2018
official election ballot for the General
Election in November 2018
for the Marijuana Party.

This is a little tricky, because apparently
under the Vermont election law,
the first candidate to show up with
a petition with the required number
of certified registered voter signatures
gets to use the descriptive word: “Marijuana”
and this may result in Cris Ericson having
to chose a different descriptive word or
phrase, such as “green mountain marijuana”
party or “let’s get high” party, or
“wanna have fun” party, or whatever!
Cris Ericson could even be listed on the
2018 official election ballot as a plain,
ordinary “independent” if other candidates
grab all the good names first!
